Amir Safari
Visual Artist & Designer · Toronto, Ontario

Amir Safari is an Iranian-born pluralistic visual artist and designer based in Toronto. Working primarily at the intersection of narrative surrealism and oil painting, his practice investigates the profound tensions between systemic machinery and the vulnerability of the human body. Drawing from his experiences navigating rigid socio-political landscapes and personal reclamation, Safari’s work serves as a powerful psychological canvas capturing silent battles, structural constraints, and the endurance of the human spirit. His exhibition history includes international and local presentations in Toronto, Tehran, Athens, and Istanbul.
Visual artist and designer with an independent studio practice exploring themes of solitude, resilience, identity, and human connection through figurative art and contemporary realism. Moving my practice from Iran to Canada has marked a pivotal shift away from self-censorship toward radical creative freedom, expanding my visual language across traditional and digital media.
